What we do
Erskine Analysis is a think tank dedicated to the creative industries and soft power. We work with partners around the world who are striving to improve policy in these fields. But we’re more than just consultants - we also secure funding to drive the research and initiatives we believe matter most.
Our one rule? If you already know the answer to the question you’re asking us, then we’re not the right fit.
Our expertise
Erskine Analysis brings on board the right expertise for every project. We have links to experts in every sub-sector of the creative industries, based across the world, as well as academic and industry experts in a variety of other areas, from AI to geopolitics. See more about our experts here.
Whether examining the global reach of British creativity, the role of soft power in international relations, or the economic potential of emerging tech in the screen sectors, our work is grounded in our deep industry knowledge, combined with novel approaches to data.
We produce:
Research & Analysis: We publish in-depth studies, policy reviews, and academic research to uncover trends and inform decision-making.
Strategic Advice: We advise regional and national policymakers.
Thought Leadership: We contribute to broader discourse through our involvement in boards, working groups and events, as well as by providing public commentary.
Our impact
Our research is designed to drive change, not gather dust. However, we recognise that policy shifts don’t always happen overnight. For research aimed at influencing policy, we measure our impact on two levels:
Changing the conversation - where we have had a real impact on policy or public debate (e.g. references to our research on the future of performing arts business models in the press and in Parliament).
Changing policy - where those recommendations we make are adopted (e.g. the adoption of two of the recommendations from our paper on Keeping the UK’s Creative Industries Globally competitive - for a Soft Power Council and for an increase in investment in the Global Screen Fund).
Who we work with
Our funders, clients and partners have included government bodies, creative enterprises, think tanks, and cultural institutions, all seeking to harness the power of creativity and innovation for economic and social impact. They include:
